User Spotlight Series
Welcome back to our Spotlight Series highlighting the experiences of some Metro Vancouver property managers and tenants. Each post will explore their approach to property management or to finding a rental property, the challenges and, more specifically, how they are using and benefiting from the liv.rent platform.
The Canadian Women’s Volleyball Team trained at the Richmond Oval this past year. Team members needed to be housed in accommodation that was furnished, conveniently-located and available for 2-6 months. Many of the team members used liv.rent to secure furnished residences successfully. We reached out to a few volleyball players for feedback on their experience using liv.rent to find a place in Vancouver. See below highlighting some of their rental struggles and how the liv.rent platform helped reduce their stress when it came to renting in Vancouver.
What was your preferred neighbourhood?
We were looking for something near SW Marine Drive so we would be centrally located between Richmond for training at the Olympic Oval and Vancouver. Living near transit was important too and the Marine Drive Canada Line stop was conveniently located below the W1 complex.
Did you prefer the web or app platform?
The app. It was so convenient to browse for options and apply in the palm of our hand.
livTips – These helped us gain a better understanding of renting in Vancouver. The knowledge was practical and relevant. We had to move here regardless of the stats so they were less important.
Other than high rental prices, what are some of the biggest frustrations renters face in Vancouver?
It was really difficult to find pet friendly rental places! liv.rent had more than any other platform so this was greatly appreciated.
How long did it take you to find a place?
It took us 2-3 months to find an available, suitable, geographically desirable, furnished place.
How did liv.rent improve you rental search process?
We knew the quality of landlords and property listings was high, and the platform secure, which was reassuring as many of us were not able to travel to Vancouver to see the place before signing the lease and moving in.

What features from liv.rent do you like best?
We liked the simplicity of the interface and the straight-forward process and the selection of furnished properties.
How did you find out about liv.rent?
Our governing body, Team Canada, told us about W1’s furnished apartment options. Applications to these residences was through the liv.rent app exclusively and that is how we started using this great tool.
