And the large majority of rental seekers \u2013 44% \u2013 fall into the 25-34 year old category.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8662 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Artboard-6-100.jpg\" alt=\"Vancouver Renters Male Vs Female Infographic\" width=\"766\" height=\"365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Artboard-6-100.jpg 766w, https:\/\/liv.rent\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Artboard-6-100-300x143.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Pet Friendly Vancouver Rentals<\/h2>\n<p>Finding accommodations when you have a furry friend remains a challenge for Greater Vancouverites. When looking at the volume of listings online, more than a quarter (27%) of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">liv.rent<\/a><\/strong><\/span> listings were pet friendly compared to 15% of listings on other platforms.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8658 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Artboard-6-copy-100.jpg\" alt=\"Pet Friendly Rentals Infographic Liv Rent\" width=\"766\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Artboard-6-copy-100.jpg 766w, https:\/\/liv.rent\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Artboard-6-copy-100-300x112.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Furnished vs. Unfurnished Rental Stats<\/h2>\n<p>Interestingly, the price differential between furnished and unfurnished rental options closed a little in April. The average rent for an unfurnished one bedroom apartment in April was $1,801 per month up from March\u2019s $1,682 average. The average cost of a furnished apartment, however, crept downwards to $1,862\u00a0 from March&#8217;s $1,930.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8661 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Artboard-6-copy-2-100.jpg\" alt=\"Vancouver Furnished vs Unfurnished Average Rent Price Infographic\" width=\"766\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Artboard-6-copy-2-100.jpg 766w, https:\/\/liv.rent\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Artboard-6-copy-2-100-300x170.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Highest vs. Cheapest Rent in Vancouver<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/rental-listings\/city\/surrey\">Surrey<\/a><\/span> continues to have the lowest average rent for a 1 bedroom unit at $1,414 compared to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/rental-listings?page=1&amp;search_regions%5Bcity%5D=Vancouver&amp;search_regions%5Bstate%5D=BC&amp;search_regions%5BcountryCode%5D=CAN&amp;search_regions%5Bneighborhood%5D=Downtown\">Downtown Vancouver\u2019s<\/a><\/span> average of $2,178 for a comparable home.<\/p>\n<p>Remember though, despite paying premium rates to live in <a href=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/rental-listings\/city\/vancouver\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Vancouver,<\/span><\/a> tenants are saving in other ways, primarily, on car-related expenses (vehicle, insurance, fuel and repairs).
