The majority of neighbourhoods saw year-over-year declines in three-bedroom unfurnished units, with the sharpest decreases in London, Etobicoke, and Markham.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Brampton breaks the trend among GTA\u2019s cheapest rental markets<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Brampton, Oshawa, Milton, East York, and York remain the GTA\u2019s most affordable rental markets. However, Brampton stood out with an 8.57% year-over-year increase in unfurnished 1-bedroom rents, shifting from the cheapest market in Nov 2024 to the third-cheapest in Nov 2025.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Price drops shift rankings among GTA\u2019s priciest rental markets<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Markham (-16.9%) and North York (-10.1%) saw the steepest year-over-year drops in unfurnished 1-bedroom rents, pushing both out of the top five most expensive markets this November. This November, <a href=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/rental-listings\/city\/markham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Markham<\/a> ($4.10\/sq. ft.) had the highest rent per square foot, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/liv.rent\/rental-listings\/city\/north-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">North York<\/a> ($3.78\/sq. ft.). For renters, these numbers show which types of units you&#8217;re most likely to encounter in the Greater Toronto Area, while for landlords, you can assess how much competition you&#8217;ll face based on the current supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br><h3 style=\"color: #fe5f55\">Active listings by property type<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As of November 2025, the most common rental property type was apartments, representing the majority of all listings in the GTA at 88.06%. One-bedroom units were the most common type of listing in the GTA this month at 45.03%, while two-bedroom units represented 41.84% of the region&#8217;s active listings. Investing in manual data collection means that we only consider the current month\u2019s listing, since we can filter out duplicate listings and older ads that haven\u2019t been removed. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Another key difference between our data collection methods and some government agencies like the CMHC is that we only include current asking rent prices.
