Pride Prep – Unfurl Your Freak Flag
2018 marks the 40th anniversary of Vancouver’s Pride Festival. Running August 3-5th , this fabulous celebration of love, tolerance and the LGBTQ2+ community culminates in a glorious Sunday parade that snakes through the West End – Robson to Davie to Beach Avenue. Yes, it’s time for Pride weekend 2018!
Leading up to this are countless events organized by Pride Vancouver. We’ve distilled it down to a few unique experiences we think are worth checking out.
Genderless Benderless kicks off some Queerprov Outstanding Comedy shows, July 23, 30 & August 3 at 8pm @XY
Forbidden Vancouver presents The Really Gay History Tour. Walk through Vancouver’s Gay Neighbourhood and hear stories about Vancouver’s gay history including police raids, Granville Street’s “Kiss-in” and the gayest beer parlour in town. Get kitted out in your best Pride gear at the Pump-Jack, Pork-Pies, Pre-Pride, Party-Pump, Pop-Up Shop, July 26 @6pm at the Pumpjack Pub on Davie St.
Spice Up Your Life
On July 31st, Fresh Air Cinema screens Spice World at 8:50 pm at Second Beach, Stanley Park as a Pride Kick off event.
Make It Last Forever
After the movie, head to Celebrities #celebstues Pride 2018 Kick-Off for an epic evening of high energy fun.
